Corporate Social Responsibility refers to changes in the way the businesses are managed so as to bring about an overall positive impact on the communities, cultures, society and environments in which they operate.
We at Abans Group have actively tried to incorporate this in our trading businesses. We have specifically contributed to the Swach Bharat Abhiyan launched by our esteemed Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.
Abans – a commodity trading and broking services company have specifically targeted our site located in the Adeeng District of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. Our plot was many feet below the road level and extensive land filling work was proposed to make the land usable for any activity. We noticed that the village adjacent to our plot was littered with trash since it did not had any efficient waste disposal system. The condition was so bad that garbage was dumped at every nook and corner possible due to shortage of space. Even the streets were littered with trash. The living conditions in that place were very unhygienic and piteous.
So we decided to clean the village and use that trash as land filling material on our plot. We employed some local personnel and started our campaign to clean the village. Not only were we able to solve the age old problem of littered trash that the village was facing, but we also provided employment opportunities to those who were unemployed.
The campaign has been highly successful and both the villagers as well us benefitted from this innovative solution and hence we have planned to extend this strategy to even other villages located in the vicinity of our site.
